**GREEN BAY, Wis.** — After spraining the MCL in his left knee during the season opener, Jordan Love will return as the starting quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.
Love is active for Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field. However, the team will be without top cornerback Jaire Alexander, who is inactive due to quad and groin injuries after being listed as questionable.
Love missed two games, during which the Packers (2-1) secured victories with Malik Willis as the replacement starter, defeating the Indianapolis Colts in Week 2 and winning at the Tennessee Titans last week.
Love returned to practice during the week of the Titans game and was close to coming back last Sunday.
After Wednesday's practice, he mentioned that his mobility had improved since the previous week. "Yeah, definitely," Love said. "I feel like I'm getting better every day—moving around, getting out there practicing, and feeling better."
His injury occurred in the final moments of his first game after signing a four-year, $220 million contract extension. Initially, some speculated he could be sidelined for three to six weeks. However, since the Packers didn't place him on injured reserve, it indicated their confidence in his quick recovery.
With Love active, the Packers opted not to elevate Sean Clifford from the practice squad, who had served as the backup quarterback in the previous two weeks.
In light of Jaire Alexander's absence, the team promoted cornerbacks Kamal Hadden and Robert Rochell from the practice squad to the active roster for game day.
